Rudd supports same-sex marriage
Former prime minister Kevin Rudd has changed his stance on same-sex marriage, throwing his support behind it. Rudd said that after many conversations with family, friends and colleagues, including former staff, he believes the secular state of Australia should recognise same-sex marriage. The US state of Oklahoma has been barraged by a tornado, with the US media describing it as one of the most destructive tornados in recent history. The storm was estimated to be 3.2 kilometres wide. ABC News has the pictures and a detailed blog with the latest developments.
Church slow to act on abuse
Melbourne Archbishop Denis Hart has admitted the Catholic Church has been slow to react when it comes to issues of abuse. Archbishop Hart says that the crimes should be dealt with upfront and revealed to police, saying the Church is too busy looking after itself when instructing complaints remain confidential. Aussie dollar continues to fall

Setback for Schapelle
