World War II veterans meet 68 years later
Almost 70 years after the RAAF Dakota crash that killed three Australians, a survivor and one of the rescuers have been reunited in Sydney. The Australians were forced to ditch into rough seas near Hong Kong after a routine post-war run. Six people clung to a life raft until a British rescue team arrived. Big W follows Aldi in recalling t-shirt
Retail giant Big W has followed Aldi’s lead and recalled a controversial Australia Day t-shirt, emblazoned with the slogan ‘Australia Est 1788’. A spokesperson for Big W declined to comment on the reason behind the withdrawal. Read more.
Air New Zealand flight makes emergency landing in Melbourne
An Air New Zealand flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Melbourne Airport moments after it took off last night. The A320 was reportedly experiencing engine troubles and a fuel leak. A spokesperson from Air New Zealand said reports of the leak were incorrect. Seven News has more.

The father of the Pakistani teenager who died after tackling a suicide bomber and saving hundreds of lives has praised his son for his bravery. Aitzaz Hassan died in hospital after stopping the bomber from entering the gates of his school on Monday. Read more.
58-year-old woman pregnant with granddaughter
A 58-year-old woman is due to give birth in a matter of weeks to her first grandchild. Julia Navarro is serving as a gestational carrier for her daughter and son-in-law.
