The tables were resplendent in lace tablecloths with alternatively yellow and blue overlays, serviettes to match, silver balloons for the 25<sup>th</sup> and one blue one on the top table for the 40<sup>th</sup>.</p> <p>We have three inaugural members, two of whom attend the Club and one who remains a member but does not attend. He was invited as it was a special day, and we had prepared some Certificates of Appreciation for their long term membership. A Double Celebration

February 2016 marked the special 40th Anniversary of the formation of Probus in Australia, and it also marked the 25th Anniversary of the first meeting of the Probus Club of Mitchelton, so we had a double celebration.
We chose to have the event at our AGM in March. We invited some special guests, our local State member Tim Mander MP, our newly re-elected Councillor Andrew Wines, the President of Mitchelton Rotary, our sponsors, Colin Dash, the Chairman of Rotary District 9600 Robin Bechly and the newly elected President of Probus Queensland Judy Brockett.

To mark the occasion, we finished the day with a High Tea, a bigger effort than we had anticipated, but well worth it in the end. The tables were resplendent in lace tablecloths with alternatively yellow and blue overlays, serviettes to match, silver balloons for the 25th and one blue one on the top table for the 40th.
We have three inaugural members, two of whom attend the Club and one who remains a member but does not attend. He was invited as it was a special day, and we had prepared some Certificates of Appreciation for their long term membership. The presentation was made by Robin Bechly and Judy Brockett presented the PAQ recognition.

So Happy Birthdays to Probus Australia, and Probus Mitchelton, and any other Clubs celebrating the sane tine span. We had a great party to celebrate for you all.
