address Chairman Margaret congratulated the club on its anniversary and presented a ten year certificate. </p> <p>She also congratulated the club on the strength and variety of its activities but warned it not to rest on its laurels and to plan for the future by encouraging more members to become involved in the Management Committee and activities.</p> <p>She then inducted David Freeman as President and welcomed all the newly elected Managing Committee.</p> <p>In his president’s report David thanked all members for their help and support during the year giving special thanks to Ian Thompson, a founding member, for his newly written History of the first Ten Years of the Club. </p> <p>After researching ten years of newsletters and committee minutes this amounted to an 80 page written and pictorial record.</p> <p>Chairman Margaret then presented Kerri Flockart with a life membership certificate and twenty-four foundation members were presented with badges to acknowledge their contribution to the club over the years.</p> <p>A very pleasant lunch at the Yacht Club, overlooking the Bay towards Arthur’s Seat, brought a very successful anniversary AGM to a conclusion.</p> Life members for Arthur's Seat

In 1802 Captain James Murray sailed into Port Philip aboard his ship The Lady Nelson.
He sighted a mountain and named it Arthurs Seat after his home town of Edinburgh.
Two hundred and ten years later the Combined Probus Club of Arthur’s Seat met at the Sorrento Yacht and Couta Boat Club to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its founding.
A 90 per cent attendance of members welcomed the Chairman of PSPL at the time, Margaret Robinson, and the founding president of the Rotary Club of Dromana, Ray Barnard-Brown and of the Probus Club of Red Hill, Helen Allen.
A former president, Carol Spencer, was welcomed back, apologies having been received from the club’s founding president Russell Daff.
In her address Chairman Margaret congratulated the club on its anniversary and presented a ten year certificate.
She also congratulated the club on the strength and variety of its activities but warned it not to rest on its laurels and to plan for the future by encouraging more members to become involved in the Management Committee and activities.
She then inducted David Freeman as President and welcomed all the newly elected Managing Committee.
In his president’s report David thanked all members for their help and support during the year giving special thanks to Ian Thompson, a founding member, for his newly written History of the first Ten Years of the Club.
After researching ten years of newsletters and committee minutes this amounted to an 80 page written and pictorial record.
Chairman Margaret then presented Kerri Flockart with a life membership certificate and twenty-four foundation members were presented with badges to acknowledge their contribution to the club over the years.
A very pleasant lunch at the Yacht Club, overlooking the Bay towards Arthur’s Seat, brought a very successful anniversary AGM to a conclusion.
