from Wagga Wagga and surrounding areas will gather for a Probus Friendship Day at the end of October, to meet other members in their region and workshop ways to keep their clubs growing. </p> <p>Hosted by the Wagga Wagga Combined Tours Club, the event will provide an opportunity for intermingling and friendship between different Probus clubs.</p> <p>Members from Grenfell, Griffith, Leeton, Cootamundra and Henty will attend the three-hour event, which includes a luncheon and a guest attendance by Probus South Pacific Chairman Gary Blackler.</p> <p>Gary will speak about the benefits of being a part of the Probus community as well as providing tips to help clubs attract new members. He will also be available to answer questions following his presentation.</p> <p>This will be the third year the Friendship Day has been run since the Combined Tours Committee was formed, and the first to be attended by members from neighbouring towns.</p> <p>“This is the first time we have had Probians attending from different towns so we are looking forward to making connections that will hopefully lead to future combined tours,” says Peter Piltz, Secretary of the Probus Club Wagga Wagga Garden City. “There is a real sense of excitement within our group and gratitude to those clubs from outside Wagga who will be attending.”</p> <p>This year’s event will be held in the Mirage Room of the Wagga Wagga RSL Club, where Peter says they managed to organise a good deal for members.</p> <p>“The subcommittee has been hard at work arranging decorations and sponsors for the event,” Peter says. “We are receiving strong support from the Wagga Wagga information Centre who are putting together literature on attractions, not only in Wagga, but also other places within the Riverina.”</p> <p>The main focus of the Combined Tours Club subcommittee is to organise tours and travel opportunities for Probus members. The idea is that by targeting multiple clubs in the area it is easier to gather numbers and, ultimately, run more tours. Probus Friendship Day

Wagga Wagga clubs are set to keep on growing after they get together to form new friendships and workshop ways to attract new members on 31 October.
More than 200 Probus members from Wagga Wagga and surrounding areas will gather for a Probus Friendship Day at the end of October, to meet other members in their region and workshop ways to keep their clubs growing.
Hosted by the Wagga Wagga Combined Tours Club, the event will provide an opportunity for intermingling and friendship between different Probus clubs.
Members from Grenfell, Griffith, Leeton, Cootamundra and Henty will attend the three-hour event, which includes a luncheon and a guest attendance by Probus South Pacific Chairman Gary Blackler.
Gary will speak about the benefits of being a part of the Probus community as well as providing tips to help clubs attract new members. He will also be available to answer questions following his presentation.
This will be the third year the Friendship Day has been run since the Combined Tours Committee was formed, and the first to be attended by members from neighbouring towns.
“This is the first time we have had Probians attending from different towns so we are looking forward to making connections that will hopefully lead to future combined tours,” says Peter Piltz, Secretary of the Probus Club Wagga Wagga Garden City. “There is a real sense of excitement within our group and gratitude to those clubs from outside Wagga who will be attending.”
This year’s event will be held in the Mirage Room of the Wagga Wagga RSL Club, where Peter says they managed to organise a good deal for members.
“The subcommittee has been hard at work arranging decorations and sponsors for the event,” Peter says. “We are receiving strong support from the Wagga Wagga information Centre who are putting together literature on attractions, not only in Wagga, but also other places within the Riverina.”
The main focus of the Combined Tours Club subcommittee is to organise tours and travel opportunities for Probus members. The idea is that by targeting multiple clubs in the area it is easier to gather numbers and, ultimately, run more tours. Peter says this approach has proved a huge success, recalling a fabulous tour to the Flinders Ranges and looking forward to an upcoming tour to Mudgee. “I’m a travel nut so I’m happy to go anywhere; it’s all about socialising,” he says. “I don’t even mind going back to the same place a couple of times.”
