Funding bill on hold
The Federal Government will hold off on introducing the controversial election funding bill following a public backlash. The legislation was due to be introduced to Parliament today however the Coalition’s support has waivered following criticism by backbenchers. ABC News has more.
Kissing goodbye to MS
Thousands of people around the world kissed goodbye to Multiple Sclerosis, wearing red to mark World MS Day 2013. Megan Healey from NSW rode a bright red mower 1040km to raise awareness for the disease, while News.com.au published a touching article about several people living with MS. McGuire may step down
Eddie McGuire may step down as president of Collingwood Football Club and any other media jobs following comments made on-air about Sydney Swans player Adam Goodes. Last night, McGuire admitted he inadvertently racially vilified Goodes who he said could be used to promote the King Kong musical. See what Eddie had to say following the incident on Seven News.
Chilling footage of nurse’s confession
Police have released footage of their interview with nurse Roger Dean about lighting the blaze at a Quakers Hill nursing home which caused the death of 11 people. The video shows Dean admitting to setting fire to a sheet and watching the fire take hold. Read more.

Man charged for putting baby in freezer
A 25-year-old Washington man has been charged for putting his six-week old daughter in a freezer to stop her crying. Tyler Deutsch pleaded not guilty to charges of child assault, criminal mistreatment and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence. Bail was set at USD1 million. Man lived 15 years with pencil in head
A young man in Afghanistan has lived for 15 years with a pencil lodged inside his head, stemming from a childhood incident. The patient complained of impaired vision, headaches and discharge from his right nostril. Read more.
Mammoth may be cloned
Russian scientists have allegedly discovered blood in the carcass of a woolly mammoth, possibly boosting their chances of cloning the animal. The carcass of the female mammoth was found earlier this month and the animal is believed to have died between 10,000 and 15,000 years ago. See the amazing discovery and read more.
