Woolwich attacker arrested in 2010
It has been revealed that one of the men arrested on suspicion of the murder of a British soldier in a London street was arrested in Kenya in 2010. Michael Adebolajo was handed over to British intelligence and deported because there was insufficient evidence to charge him. He was arrested on suspicion of preparing to fight with Islamist militants in Somalia. ABC News has the full story. Live betting odds to be restricted
Networks have agreed to Gillard’s new restrictions on the airing of live betting odds, with the Prime Minister threatening to legislate a complete ban. Gillard has given television networks two weeks to put forward a plan that will comply with the Government’s requirements which allow generic gambling ads during quarter-time and half-time breaks. Jogger mauled by three dogs
Three dogs have attacked a Sydney jogger with deep lacerations on the arm, under the arm and on his chest. Paramedics were forced to insert an intravenous drip through his foot, as his upper body was so badly hurt. Ninemsn.com.au has more.
Racism mars Indigenous Round
Racist remarks marred the Indigenous Round match between the Sydney Swans and Collingwood on Friday night with Sydney players Adam Goodes and Lewis Jetta racially abused by Collingwood fans. The 13-year-old girl hurling comments at Goodes was caught on camera and escorted from the ground. Another man caught on camera is yet to be identified. ABC News has more.
First female amputee conquers Everest
An Indian woman who has an amputated leg has become the first female amputee to conquer Everest, bravely climbing to the peak last Tuesday morning. Arunima Sinha lost her leg after being thrown from a moving train by thieves after attempting to defend herself. Read more on Yahoo Seven News.
Men arrested over explosion threat
Two men are expected to be charged today after a fight broke out on Pakistan International Airlines flight PK709, minutes out from its destination. When a female passenger tried to calm the men down, one allegedly threatened to blow up the plane. Read more.
