The Federal Government is expected to announce $300 million in drought funding today. In international news, the three victims of Ariel Castro have reunited in public for the first time.
Drought package unveiled
$300 million in funding will be unveiled by the Federal Government today as part of the drought package to help NSW and Queensland farmers. Approximately $280 million of the package will go towards increased access to government-backed concessional loans, helping farmers survive the drought. ABC News has the full story.
Seven Network sues AFP
The Seven Network is suing the Australian Federal Police following raids on its Sydney offices. The AFP entered the premises last week searching for evidence of a paid interview deal between the network and convicted criminal Schapelle Corby. Read more.

The World Health Organisation has declared the smog covering China a crisis. Beijing is facing its sixth consecutive day of think smog blanketing the city. Authorities have put the city on orange alert, the second-highest danger level rating when it comes to pollution. Read more.
Children killed in attack on school
Forty-three people have been killed in a suspected Boko Haram Islamists attack on a Nigerian school. The school is run by the federal government. The raid took place at 2:00 in the morning as the secondary school students slept. Seven News has more.
