Guest speaker Ruth Main shared tales from her seven-year cruise around the world on a catamaran, which even led her to write a book about the experience. Probus 40th celebrations continue

Probus Clubs all over Australia are continuing to celebrate the organisation's 40th anniversary this year. Check out some of the wonderful parties and events that clubs have hosted in recent months.
Gambier City, South Australia
Gambier City Ladies Probus Club Inc hosted a combined Probus luncheon on 28 June, which saw 19 clubs from across Victoria join them for the celebration. Guest speaker Ruth Main shared tales from her seven-year cruise around the world on a catamaran, which even led her to write a book about the experience. The celebration also included a two-course lunch, a skit performed by the club and lucky seat prizes.
Keilor, Victoria
On 22 June, 209 Probians from seven clubs celebrated Probus’ 40th anniversary with a winter solstice luncheon at the Lakeside Reception, Taylors Lakes, which included a performance by the Melbournaire Choir. Thank you to the hardworking committee members of Keilor (Marie Brown, Maria Rowe), Keilor East (Gail Horkings, Barbara Greasley, Ken Allan) and Taylors Lakes (Lorraine and Terry Martin, Greg Sibley) for organising such a lovely day.
Morrisset, New South Wales
On 22 July, the Morisset Ladies and Morisset Men’s Probus Clubs joined forces to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of this great organisation.
The occasion was a great success, where members and guests were treated to a lunch followed by a cabaret featuring the outstanding talents of multi-award winner, Michael Montgomery. Special guests were Mr Ray Davies Rotary District Probus Chairman and Kerry Morrissey representing Morisset Rotary.
Nepean, New South Wales
The Probus Club of Nepean recently held their annual mid-year birthday lunch at The Lakeside Restaurant. Members decided to use the day to also celebrate Probus’ 40th anniversary by creating a ruby-themed lunch and inviting all Probians to wear ruby red.
Rathmines, New South Wales
The Rathmines / Wangi Probus Club recently celebrated Probus’ 40th birthday with a ceremonial cutting of the cake by the club’s four Life Members, Ray Mulhearn, John Heathwood, Trevor Langwill and Barry Wilks.
Runaway Bay, Queensland
The Probus Club of Runaway Bay held a luncheon to celebrate 40 years of Probus Australia and combined it with a one-year anniversary celebration of Runaway Bay becoming a mixed club. PSPL Chairman Mr Douglas Geekie joined the event and presented a certificate of appreciation to President Warren Humphries OAM.
